THE SITE The site which is to be found accessed off the A420 is about 1 ½ miles from the town centre of Faringdon.

The attractive former market town of Faringdon offers excellent retail, commercial, leisure and educational facilities and is an expanding and ever popular residential location. Shopping in the town has in recent times been significantly improved with new supermarkets being opened by Tesco, Waitrose and Aldi. The town has excellent educational facilities including the highly regarded Faringdon Community College, as well as a good nursery and primary schools.

This site enjoys a strategic position just off the A420, leading to Oxford and the M40 to the east and Swindon and the M4 to the west.

The site has distant views to the east to the Uffington White Horse and Berkshire Downs and to the west and south, it will have lovely views over open countryside and plots 13 to 18 will overlook an existing lake, which will give a most peaceful setting.

In all the site extends to some 4.5 acres with direct access onto the adopted highway.

VIEWINGS The site may be inspected at your convenience at any reasonable time, though it would be appreciated if you could inform us when you intend to visit. - Please call our Land Department on 01285 646770.

TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING At a recent committee meeting of The Vale of White Horse District Council's Planning Committee, a resolution to grant planning consent was passed; subject to the terms for a Section 106 Agreement relating primarily to an off-site payment in lieu of affordable housing was passed. The development will consist of 18 open market houses, as well as 2 detached houses replacing the existing Chowle Farm House, making a total of 20 new build open market homes. There will be no on site affordable housing.

We can inform you that the vendors are undertaking detailed negotiations with the planning authority relating to the Section 106 Agreement and these will be finalised prior to completion of a sale and any financial contribution required will be the responsibility of the vendor.

We have a CD Rom with all background papers, surveys and planning information that is available upon request if you decide to pursue the acquisition of the site.

Available upon request is also a schedule setting out details of the proposed houses together with an indication of current market values; these figures of course assume that the properties will be built to a good quality with the appropriate specification and taking into account evidence from current market conditions.
