Located in Gloucestershire on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, Cheltenham is regularly voted one of the best places to live in the UK.
Cheltenham, the UK’s most complete Regency Town, is described by The Sunday Times as “a family-friendly spa town that puts the gloss into Gloucestershire.” With unique festival vibes, an abundance of independent and much loved High Street shops and incredible dining experiences from street food to Michelin starred fine dining, Cheltenham is regarded as the cultural centre for the Cotswolds.
Cheltenham is full of fabulous cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants, with outside seating areas available. Offering a café culture and cosmopolitan atmosphere as well as award-winning shopping, the town is truly stylish. Cheltenham is home to Julian Dunkerton, the mastermind behind the clothing brand Superdry, who has invested heavily in the town – including upmarket hotels, restaurants and a cider shop and taproom.
You’ll find a choice of great schools both in the public and private sector, including one of the leading comprehensive schools in the country – Balcarras Academy. Cheltenham Bournside School and Pittville School are also popular secondary schools. Highly regarded independent schools include Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Cheltenham College and Dean Close School and there’s a wealth of wonderful primary schools, making Cheltenham a very popular place for bringing up a family.
There’s a John Lewis in the town centre and all the big supermarkets, including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi and Lidl are available.
There is an abundance of fantastic festivals all year round, from regular horseracing meets held at the town’s famous Cheltenham Racecourse, culminating in the Gold Cup at The Festival in March, through to the internationally renowned four main festivals of Jazz, Science, Music and Literature. With Poetry, Food and Drink, Ukulele, Cricket, the popular family Wychwood Festival and even a Wine Festival, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Comedy, dance, concerts and a wide variety of entertainment take place in many venues including Cheltenham Town Hall, Everyman Theatre and Bacon Theatre, with music to suit all tastes in pubs and bars. Watch a blockbuster at Cinewold’s IMAX screen or enjoy an independent film whilst sipping a cocktail at the boutique option Tivoli Cinema.
Great sports and leisure facilities are also available in the town at Cheltenham’s leisure centre plus the town boasts a brilliantly preserved art deco lido which is open from March until October each year.
Very well connected, Cheltenham has fantastic transport links. This includes the M5 Junction south and north, Cheltenham train station and Cheltenham coach stations to London.
There’s no greater endorsement than a recommendation.
When you refer a friend or family member who then goes on to sell or let with us, we will give you £150 to spend at John Lewis as a ‘thank you’. And the person you refer to us will also receive £150 John Lewis vouchers upon completion. It’s a win-win situation for both you and your friend!
*Vouchers will be delivered to both you and your friend upon completion of the Perry Bishop sale or let of your referee’s property.
We are proud to support the James Hopkins Trust. This fantastic local charity provides care for babies and children up to the age of 5 with life limiting or life threatening conditions and supports the children’s families.
